At Miraflores Winery, our passion is to craft balanced new world wines, and indulge the senses with gracious and welcoming surroundings.

Miraflores Winery was founded in 1998 by Dr. Victor Alvarez. Our first vines of Syrah and Zinfandel were planted during that year and our first vintage was produced in 2003. Today, our 252-acre property runs on solar energy, and is covered with 45 planted acres of 16 different grape varietals. Our renowned winemaker, Marco Cappelli, has been creating our wine from the very beginning and brings his old world experience and knowledge from wine making in France and Italy to the table while integrating unique and modern wine making styles.

Our tasting room operated out of the winery building on the property until 2010, when the tasting room construction was fully completed. Victor’s goal was to create a space of old world Mediterranean blended with the beauty of California’s gold country, a space to allow time to slow down and relax the mind. He has collected pieces from his travels all over the world to accentuate the elegance of the winery, from wooden beams, salvaged from the Oakland Ferry Building torn down in 1936, to the 200 year old stone flooring from the Mediterranean basin.

Escape the hectic pace of everyday life and come taste elegant wine on our stone patio overlooking our 42 acres of vineyards. We are proud to say that over 50 of our wines have been rated 90 points or more by Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast since 2005! Come in the summer time to sit under our wooden beamed arbor to enjoy gourmet food and wine pairings. Warm up next to our centuries-old fireplace with a glass of red wine and a bowl of soup while taking in the view of our snow covered vineyards. With the changing of each season, we look forward to welcoming you with open arms and of course a glass of wine!
